Saw FAITH HEALER tonight (after a lovely dinner at um... the Sweet Shoppe? with Lily & Gill) We got a bit lost (my fault) and ended up being about 15 minutes late, so we had to stand in the back for the first act, but still got to see everything. I wasn't wild about the play- I like the basic storyline, the kinda Rashomon-ish-ness of it... but it never fully grabbed me. The performances, however, were fantastic. Ralph Fiennes is, as Lily says, flawless. Cherry Jones moves me incredibly- she just seems to act with every inch of her being. Ian McDiarmid stole the show as Teddy. We headed to the stage door after the show and I got my playbill signed by all three actors. Cherry Jones- SO incredibly beautiful. Ralph- looked me in the eye... yeah, I had a moment with Ralph Fiennes.
So- Lee Pace and Ralph Fiennes in one week? If only Natasha Richardson was around for a complete WHITE COUNTESS reunion. Oh, I love that movie... can't wait for it to be out on dvd.
