sleeping and waking are the hardest things to do
So yesterday I totally had mojo. Today? not so much...
I went to bed around 2:30 am, took some Sudafed because I've been feeling like a cold is coming on. I woke up this morning feeling refreshed, but thinking that I slept late, maybe to 11:30 or so.
It was 2:11 pm. I was supposed to be at work at 2:00. bleh...
then it was just an alright day, nothing too bad. plus, i got to work with some of my favorite co-workers today and that always makes it all better. it wasn't till i got home though that i got really happy- turns out that Holly Palmer is going to be playing here on Tuesday night at this place called Arlene's Grocery. I work till 7:30 that night and open the next day, but it's HOLLY PALMER!! I saw her once, in like 1997 when she opened for Paula Cole & I had no idea who she was. She impressed me, though- I bought her album and a tee and became a big fan. I endured the LONG ASS WAIT between "Holly Palmer" and "I Confess" and have been stalking her Myspace page for info on the upcoming "Songs for Tuesday."
my point is that if I go to one show this year, it's going to be this one. ...and I'll probably be going alone, but fuck it. It's Holly.
So I'm off for the next four days- My cousin Chuck is going to be in town for the 2nd half of my long weekend. Tomorrow I'll be doing laundry (a great excuse to read Harry Potter for two hours without much interruption) and having Korner Pizza Friday with the flatmates. I don't know what we're planning on watching, movie-wise... Sometime tomorrow I would like to finally see "Shopgirl" and "The New World" but you know how that goes. Saturday I will try my Tarantino double feature again... and that night X+J and I are going to watch "Wolf Creek" together.
um. that's it for me.
title quote: 'til tuesday, "Sleeping & Waking" from WELCOME HOME
music du jour: again, it was an all Tanya Donelly/belly day.
dvd player: Cracker: Lucky White Ghost
bookbag: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. What I'm expecting- Death (Sirius? Ginny? A Weasley?)
celebrity sightings: 1: Danny DeVito was in the store today! He kinda reminds me of my boss. He's actually shorter than I imagined him to be- but this could have been because I saw him walking with Dylan, who's even taller than me (and also the most adorable guy on the planet). I was standing at my cart when he walked up to us and I literally stopped for a moment while it registered that Danny DeVito was talking to us. Very cool.
